Aims and Scope
Scientific and technical journal "Izvestiya VUZ. Applied Nonlinear Dynamics" is an original interdisciplinary publication of wide focus. The journal is the oldest Russian specialized periodical on nonlinear dynamics (synergetics), chaos theory and their applications.
The journal publishes original research in the following areas (headings):
- Nonlinear Waves. Solitons. Autowaves. Self-Organization.
- Bifurcation in Dynamical Systems. Deterministic Chaos. Quantum Chaos.
- Applied Problems of Nonlinear Oscillation and Wave Theory.
- Modeling of Global Processes. Nonlinear Dynamics and Humanities.
- Innovations in Applied Physics.
- Nonlinear Dynamics and Neuroscience.
- Science for Education. Methodical Papers. History of Nonlinear Dynamics. Personalia.
The journal accepts the following manuscript types:
- Articles (up to 25 pages);
- Reviews (up to 50 pages);
- Short communications (8 pages);
- Editorials (2-4 pages, biography of outstanding scientists and current problems of science development);
- Personalia (2-4 pages, articles about outstanding scientists of the past and present).
The journal Editorial Board includes leading Russian and foreign scientists whose range of interests covers all of the specified research areas. The chief editor is academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu. V. Gulyaev.
The journal design is also quite unique. On the front cover, a photo of an outstanding scientist or an illustration of a significant event, corresponding to the topic of the editorial note, is published. On the back cover, a collage based on the materials of the issue, using original illustrations by the issue authors, is published.
The journal has a readership of academisians, postgraduates and graduate students of higher educational institutions, researchers of academic and research centers. The journal mission is to promote synergetics as an advance tool for reasearch and to contribute to training specialists in nonlinear dynamics.
