Spin waves in lateral YIG waveguides with platinum strips
Purpose. The propagation characteristics of spin waves in two laterally coupled yttrium iron garnet waveguides with platinum strips on the surface have been experimentally investigated.
Methods. Two methods of structure excitation were considered: excitation of one waveguide and signal reception from two waveguides, as well as excitation of two waveguides and signal reception from one waveguide.
Results. It is shown that in the first case, the spin wave excitation bands taken from the outputs of the first and second waveguides partially overlap; the frequency range between the maxima of the spin wave excitation bands increases with increasing voltage in
the platinum strips; in the second case, a spin wave bandgap was observed at the phase difference of the input signals of π and π/2.
Conclusion. With increasing voltage in the platinum strips, the bandgap disappeared.
