The rediscovery of time

Autors:
Prigogine Ilia Romanovich, University of Texas at Austin
Abstract:

The report delivered at the VIII—th International congress of logic, methodology and philosophy of science in August 1987 is devoted to the modern conception of time, which was proposed by the collaborators of his school. The new approach to the problem, connected with the consideration of non-linear systems far from equilibrium, of so called dissipative structures, permits to overcome the barrier due to duality of the world description: deterministic and reversible in time laws at microlevel and statistical and obligatory non—reversible laws at macrolevel. The report bears review character.
