Abstract:

Collective dynamics of ап ensemble of globally coupled Van der Pol generators is investigated. The formation of phase-amplitude clusters according to a given stimulus is studied. The clusters appear as two groups of generators oscillating in opposite phase. The effect can be used for various information processing functions, including input, storage and recognition of binary images.
