Abstract:

A full mathematical description of the behaviour of а person is not available at present time, because of a great number of factors, both rational and irrational, that have influence оп it. On the other hand, the behaviour of а group in а simple situation can be easily predicted and described statistically. A cellular automaton presented in the paper allows simulations of а crowd of people with an intention to move in a certain direction (i. e. in an underground passage, in a building in case of panic etc.) with some obstacles (walls, for example) on their way. We also propose а variation of the cellular automaton considering the difference of velocities of the difference of velocities of people in the crowd.
