Abstract:
Rayleigh — Benard convection in the horizontal layer of the magnetic fluid in the vertical homogeneous dc magnetic field is studied. For this model a system of differential equations is derived, that is analogous to Lorenz system for the convection in the didinary fluid. The possibility of controlling the convection regimes by changing the magnetic field strength is demonstrated.
