Oscillations in extended systems «electron beam-backward electromagnetic wave»

Abstract: 

An analytic review of oscillation properties of extended dynamical systems based on the interaction of a backward electromagnetic wave and waves in an electron beam is presented. 
Conditions of absolute instability realization, a linear non-steady-state process, properties of single frequency and multifrequency, including chaotic, oscillations are considered. Bifurcation transition between oscillation regimes and mechanisms of arising of complex spatio-temporal oscillations are described.
