Investigating the transition to phase synchronization in experimental nonlinear optics

The transition route to phase synchronization in а chaotic laser with external modulation is investigated. We show evidence оf the presence оf а regime оf periodic phase synchronization, where phase slips occur with maximal coherence in the phase difference between output signal and external modulation. We demonstrate that such а regime occurs аt the crossover point between two different scaling Jaws of the intermittent type behavior оf phase slips.
