Modulational instability of space-charge waves: numerical simulation

Autors:
Ryskin Nikita Mikhailovich, Saratov Branch of Kotel`nikov Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract:

Modulational instability of space-charge waves in a fluid model of an electron beam is studied numerically. The effect of amplitude and frequency of a fundamental signal, depth and frequency of modulation on the growth rate is investigated. The results of simulations are in a good agreement with the approximate theory developed by the author in [1].
